Frequently asked questions

Parents

How do I get parent access?

Access is by invitation from your child's school. The school emails you an invitation after verifying your link to the child. There is no open sign-up.

Why does the time say “scheduled”?

When no recent GPS position is available, Buscolaire shows the scheduled time instead of an estimate. The “scheduled” label tells you the number doesn't come from GPS.

What does “Signal lost” mean?

The last location received is more than two minutes old. It is no longer used to estimate arrival, and the scheduled time is shown instead. This can happen, for example, in areas with poor cellular coverage.

Is there an app to download?

No. Buscolaire is a web app: open it in your browser and add it to your home screen. There is no app in the App Store or Google Play.

Will the app tell me if my child got on the bus?

Only if boarding was recorded through an authorized attendance process. The bus arriving at the stop, detected by GPS, never confirms that a child got on.

Schools and service centres

Who can see my child's information?

Only people whose role requires it: linked parents, authorized school and service centre staff, and the operator's dispatch for the trip concerned. The driver sees the first name and last initial.

Can a school change a route?

The school can propose a stop or a change. The operator and the service centre review the request through the agreed process before publishing a new route version.

Do we have to replace our current systems?

No. Buscolaire works alongside your existing tools and agreements as a coordination layer. A pilot lets you measure its value without replacing anything.

How do we request a pilot?

Fill out the form on the Pilot page or write to us. We then set up a first conversation to define the territory, schools and buses involved.

Operators and drivers

Can drivers type while driving?

No. Actions that require input are only offered when the bus is stopped. While moving, the console is a passive display.

How does our buses' GPS connect?

With your authorization, your telematics provider sends positions through a signed webhook. No provider is connected yet: each connection is set up and tested during a pilot.

How is a problem reported during a run?

Once stopped, the driver reports an incident or a delay from the console. Dispatch receives it, assigns it and follows it until it is resolved. In an emergency, call 911.

Data and security

Which languages does Buscolaire support?

French and English, everywhere: interface, notices, emails and public pages. Switching languages keeps your page and your session.

What happens to data after a pilot?

It is deleted or de-identified according to the retention rules set out in the agreement with each partner.

Does Buscolaire sell data?

No. Personal information is never sold or used for advertising.

How do I contact you?

Use the form on the Contact page or email alysson@ardezign.com. For privacy questions, use the same address.
